Canon adds more imageRUNNER ADVANCE models to the range

21 October 2016

At Canon, October has been busy.  Following the launch of the new imagePRESS, the Japanese manufacturer has announced the release of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 series.  This series includes the multifunctions imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7565i, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7570i and imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7580i.

Canon are highlighting that these are very productive machines providing superior print quality, aimed at both the graphic arts sector and workgroups.  Canon wants to focus this range's launch on print quality, particularly in color.  These imageRUNNER ADVANCE machines use the V2 color profile that produces vivid, vibrant images and enlarges the color reproduction range of each machine.  For example, the R-VCSEL (laser) helps with clear color printing delivering resolution of 2400 x 2400 dpi.  The toner fusing process has been improved by reducing the heat requirement:  they run cooler, and this should improve productivity on mixed-stock runs, and reduce electricity consumption.  Improvements have also been made to the toner fixing process itself to allow printing onto a wider range of media.  The range also has a wide range of finishing options, including folding, hole punching, stapling and booklet-making units.

These machines are capable of printing at speeds of 65, 70 and 80 ppm and are equipped with a single pass (duplex) document feeder as standard.  A Fiery controller is an option.  They also have longer consumables lifetimes.  The use of the UFR II page description language also allows for better performance in productivity terms, at least in certain circumstances.
