Konica Minolta widens agreement with MGI Digital Technology

19 April 2016

Konica Minolta is strengthening its alliance with MGI Digital Technology, the multi-media digital press specialist.

An agreement has recently been concluded between the two parties. Through this agreement, Konica Minolta is consolidating its global development by acquiring 40.8% of the French manufacturer (they already had 10%).  It also means the whole range of MGI Digital Technology equipment will now be sold through the sales forces of the Japanese group, which is present in 37 countries.

Konica Minolta acquired its 10% of MGI Digital Technology Capital in January 2014 as part of a first strategic alliance regarding the distribution of a single device, the JETvarnish 3DS (specially developed for the digital printing market).  By extending distribution to all MGI Digital Technology products, this agreement strengthens the network of the French group.

MGI's press release states it is already seeing accelerated growth, with the objective of surpassing 100 million euros of annual turnover by 2020.
