A new print controller for Xerox i-series MFPs

22 April 2016

In March DataMaster presented the Xerox i Series 'smart' MFPs which run with ConnectKey.  Now let's focus on the Fiery FS150 controller from EFI available on the WorkCenter 7970i.

The recent upgrade of the WorkCenter 7970 to the WorkCenter 7970i with ConnectKey brings new technical advantages - principally, the option for the Fiery FS150 controller.  The Fiery controller improves machine productivity by allowing faster processing of multiple large files, and ensures a reliable and professional print quality.

The FS150 controller is equipped with a dual-core 2.9 GHz Intel® Pentium® G850 processor, 1GB of memory and a 500 GB hard drive.  This controller provides added value to the workflow and in color processing.

From the point of view of production, the Fiery SmartRIP technology helps process large, complex documents quickly by enhancing the performance of the RIP. Adobe PDF printing standards are also implemented. This offers the highest levels of accounting and file processing.

In terms of colorimetry, the controller incorporates a range of easy to use color management tools to provide exceptional quality. Furthermore, Pantone color calibration provides the guarantee of accurate color reproduction. These tools integrate with many of the Xerox ConnectKey applications to increase user productivity by simplifying everyday tasks.

The controller Fiery FS150 is also available on the Xerox WorkCentre 7830i / 7835i / 7845i and 7855i color MFPs.
