ConnectKey, Xerox' new connectivity keyword

07 March 2013

Designed for companies and mobile users, ConnectKey makes multifunction printing devices even more of a communication platform.  It also handles user permissions.

ConnectKey is intended to make Xerox MFPs more user-friendly, and usable, but also to enhance security and reduce costs.
Users can scan documents directly to Google Drive, Evernote or even to Microsoft Office 365; administrators can amend groups of users’ default printing options.  Furthermore Xerox has brought in McAfee to ensure the integrity of the systems running ConnectKey.  Only whitelisted processes are allowed to run.  All other system behaviour raises administrator alerts, or can even cause system shotdown (an additional option).

ConnectKey also facilitates the development of tools for specific business sectors.  Available right from the interface homepage, they further enhance the customization of the device.

ConnectKey is available on the new WorkCenter 5800 range (five monochrome MFPs running at 45 to 90 ppm, as well as on the 7800 range, which replaces the WorkCenter 75xx range with four devices printing between 30  and 50 ppm in color – and 55 ppm in black on the WorkCentre 7855).

These new models technical specifications will be available to all our subscribers on DMO very shortly.
