RicoUSA launch an app for printing from the cloud

24 September 2013

Ricoh in the USA have launched FlexRelease CX, enabling smartphone and tablet users to print to enabled Ricoh MFPs via the cloud.

The app can be installed on any smartphone capable of handlilng emails - but the iOS version has some enhanced features.  So only iPhones and iPads will be able to upload files directly to the FlexRelease CX site - but any device can send the document for printing using email.

The app supports some simple job set up features, such as color/monochrome, single-/double-sided printing.  Once the document is up on the cloud, it can be sourced and printed from the interface of a suitable and enabled Ricoh device (all recent A3 and A4 MFPs, for example) once the user had identified him or herself at the machine.

No news of a lunch in Europe - yet - but we note the site has been translated.  We'll let you know!
