Billing for scans on MFPs is a challenge for resellers

While many customers' print volumes are decreasing, MFPs are being used for scanning more and more.  This represents a cost for after-sales service and technical support as feeder and scanner parts need to be serviced or replaced all the more frequently.

Some resellers have already considered billing for scans.  In this highly competitive marketplace the challenge is show sufficient value added to justify the additional billing component which the vast majority are currently offering for free.
