Xerox extends its managed print services to cover document analysis and workflows

Xerox announced yesterday 29th April that their MPS for larger accounts would include proposals for a range of new services.  In a knowledge-based economy, efficient utilisation of information is a key element in any organization's competitivity.  With this in mind, Xerox has developed new services to help large companies manage, protect and better utilize their information.

The improved services Xerox has unveiled are the following:
- new software, the 'Xerox Secure Print Manager Suite' which provides user authentication, secure printing, print accounting with rebilling, print rules and rerouting - and which can run on Xerox machines as well as on other manufacturers'; and which is based on Equitrac.
- 'Xerox Document Analytics Services' which reports on how, where and why documents get used - based on printjob data plus analyses of document lifecycles, including if requested an audit of paper-bound document flows involving user interviews. 
- 'Xerox Workflow Assessment Services' are intended to help customers identify document flows and other processes ripe for automation and streamlining.

These last two sets of services are for now onyly available to large-account customers of 'Xerox Enterprise Print Services' in North America and Europe.
