New digital press: the Xerox® Versant™ 2100 Press

25 April 2014

Xerox have announced the launch in July of a new 6000 pph color digital press, the Xerox® Versant™ 2100 Press.
Ranged in between the Color J75 and the Color 800/1000, this press has several features in common with the Color J75: frontal paper trays, lateral feeders and finishing units, for example.

Brand new!  Using a new fusion process and low-gloss, low-melt EA dry ink, the print engine can handle up to 350 gsm from specific feeders, even printing in duplex mode.  Xerox are highlighting exceptional registration, print definition beyond what competing products can offer (rendering at 1200 x 1200 by 10 bits) - and this running at 2,600 sheets of 350 gsm SRA3 per hour.  The choice of finishing options will be wider than that for the J75.

New, even more powerful Fiery controllers will be available at the same time as Xerox' FreeFlow Print Server.
This press, as opposed to the Color J75, will not have a scanner.

Since Canon's imagePRESS does not run faster than 4320 pph, this new press will be head-to-head with the Konica Minolta Press C8000e and the Ricoh Pro C901S GA+.
