Presentation of the RoHS norm

The European RoHS directive (2002/95/EC) aims to limit the use of six hazardous substances.
RoHS is short for "Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronics equipment."

The substances are, at least the best known are: lead, mercury, cadmium and chromium.

Since July the 1st 2006, any new product introduced on the EU market, whether imported or manufactured in the EU, must comply with the RoHS directive.
