Oki innovates with CMYW printing - launches two WHITE toner printers

25 September 2012

Oki is launching two new printers, each equipped with three color toners (cyan, magenta and yellow) - but a WHITE toner in place of the usual black.

The C711WT (A4 model) and C920WT (A3 model) will widen the options for in-house production for those companies used to having to outsource even short runs of PR and other materials where printing solid white is required.

Signage and labels (shop windows, rear-lit transparencies and food labels, car window stickers, etc.), PR and marketing tools, business gifts and personalised gifts (printed on transfers and stickers) are some of the print markets these new machines might revolutionize.

The A4 machine (C711WT) runs at 34 ppm (onto plain paper - 8 ppm for transparencies), and the A3/A4 (C920WT) at 31 (for A4 paper; 10 ppm for transparencies).  They can both take the heavy paper weights required for the jobs in hand - up to 250 gsm.  Both can print black through use of the three colors (so office jobs are still quite possible).
