Print Awards 2021 - Best Scan or Archive File Size

The efficiency of scanning documents for archiving or for transmission depends on the size of the file created. In identical, standardized tests, some multi-functions create files which are THIRTY TIMES bigger than competing machines do under exactly the same circumstances (originals, resolution, compression).

We test at different resolutions, color and monochrome originals, with and without compression. This award is based on an analysis of all these test results.

This makes a big difference to end-customers. Multifunction manufacturers do not publish this information. Subscribers to DataMaster Lab / Printer-Benchmark.com’s online services use scan filesize results to cost archival strategies – and this sways buying decisions.

The Awards are for A4/Letter and A3/Ledger MFPs in their various market segments.
