Canon have just launched the imagePRESS C165, a color SRA3 multifunction with some impressive specifications - aimed at in-house reprography departments and print shops.

It can run at up to 65ppm onto A4/Letter, 32.5 ppm onto A3/Ledger and 31.2 ppm onto 12x18" SRA3 cut sheets.  Print resolution can be up to 2,400 x 2,400 dpi, and the machine can be shipped with PostScript 3 as an option.  Media can be just 52 gsm up to 350 gsm / 130 lb. cover from the by pass.

As standard the machine can hold up to 3550 sheets, and with an optional high-capacity deck, up to 7050 sheets.  The device is compatible with a wide range of Canon finishing units too.
The document feeder can hold up to 300 sheets - and is equipped with a dual-head scanner which can scan up to 240 ipm.

The machine is equipped with a 10.1 inch touch screen, behind which there is 2 GB or RAM on the standard controller.  The 250 GB standard hard disk can be replaced with a 1 TB as an option.  Sleep mode takes some while to return from, but it only consumes 0.9 W.

Several different managers at Canon have been quoted as saying (!) “We know you’re having to do more with less. Against the clock and within tighter budgets. We want to help make your life easier. So here is a printer that can do it all for you in minutes. From basic scanning and printing all the way up to attention-grabbing posters with local offers and personalised event invitations. It’s all achievable without the need for any technical know-how, so it’s a great fit for any business environment.
