DataMaster Lab gives 4.5/5 stars to Epson's Enterprise range of color SRA3 MFPs

17 April 2019

The Epson Enterprise range of SRA3 inkjet color multifunction printers has been through all the DataMaster Lab tests and evaluations.  We are pleased to announce that both the WF-C20590 and WF-C17590 have obtained the excellent rating of 4.5 stars.
These are very productive machines, very easy to use, and have exemplary green credentials.

The DataMaster Lab suite of tests is designed to analyze machines' abilities to meet the requirements of office users.
We sometimes resort to using the ISO test documents since they have lower ink coverage.  But we did not for these machines.  We applied our most stringent tests to the Epson Enterprise machines - so our subscribers can see exactly how they fare against the top business toner machines on the market today.  And the answer to that is, extremely well.

There were very good results on all the axes that we study: productivity, print quality and usability.
Hats off to the Epson engineers: we have never seen an office inkjet able to deliver such speeds, in duplex mode, and with high-coverage documents.  Several double-sided print tests ran faster than for single-sided printing.
The print quality is very good, particularly the resolution and printing of fine lines and characters.
The interface is easy on the eye, and very easy to use, as is the driver - which has some unique features too.

DataMaster Lab's Technical Director Edward Bilson said "These machines represent the first real threat to toner supremacy in the office print world.  It could be the cold-print PrecisionCore printhead technology that swings it for them.  Even compared to other inkjet technologies the electrical consumption is low.  The 75ppm Epson consumes less than half the energy that a 60ppm HP PageWide machine does - and the Epson Enterprise range delivers much better on its productivity promises.  And this with almost no emissions, and a motor with few moving parts - promising low maintenance and lifelong retention of print quality."

More details on these machines' usability, functions, print quality and flexibility are available on DMO from Printer-Benchmark.com.

DataMaster Lab's analyses and assessments are completely independent.  Five-star certificates are extremely rare.  To attain five stars, not only must the equipment under test demonstrate an excellent performance in most categories, but must have no major weakness in any of the evaluation criteria.

Machines' evaluation certificates and the corresponding rosette badges (as well as those for other machines in the range with the same print engine, plus any rebadged machines sold by other brands) can all be downloaded for FREE.
Their radar charts, and the detailed results of the productivity tests are available on our benchmarking platform DMO which is available to you by subscription.
