Hyland acquires Alfresco and strengthens its global presence

Hyland, publisher of the enterprise content management platform OnBase, is about to acquire Alfresco, also a specialist in content management. The transaction is expected to be finalized during the fourth quarter of 2020; at that point, all of Alfresco's activities will be transferred to the Hyland flag.
 
Founded in 2005, Alfresco offers an open source solution already adopted by 11 million users across 190 countries.  Its clients are often in the public sector. Its platform provides paperless management solutions for the most sensitive content.

Hyland, for its part, has been developing, selling and supporting its OnBase content management platform since 1991.
 
With this acquisition, Hyland is extending its network using a method that has been developed for several years: the strategic progressive takeover of specific competitors.
