Canon launch six more imageFORCE ranges

24 September 2025

Canon launched the 65 ipm imageFORCE C7165 colour MFP and two other ranges of imageFORCE printers in May 2025.  Yesterday Canon announced 25 machines in six additional ranges, replacing multiple imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX and imageCLASS X ranges.

There are now nine Canon imageFORCE ranges, and 33 printers in all.  Three of these ranges are of black and white devices, and two of them are solo machines, so colour variants and wider ranges are probably on their way.

They each replace printers and MFPs in defined market segments, but there are steps forward on every front.

At the high end, the imageFORCE ranges' new OLED print engines offer 4,800 x 2,400 dpi print resolution and extremely fast scanners with capacities higher than most departmental scanners.  All the new machines have faster scanners than their predecessors.

Across the board, there’s state-of-the art security.
Canon are highlighting “AI-powered security,” aka “Machine Learning AI-trained firmware,” which helps some of these models recommend the best security settings.  But every one of the imageFORCE ranges provides up-to-date security features (boot and firmware monitoring) and they all comply with European laws regarding wifi connection encryption and device-specific admin passwords (generic ones like “admin” are out).

They offer easy usb lockout and hard disk encryption too, plus they almost all * have TPM 2.0 security chips to securely store encryption keys.

What we really like is the Security Settings Navigator tool, which helps set up and to monitor all the security features.  It is part of Canon’s SIEM compliance, and small-business IT support teams – and small businesses without dedicated IT support personnel - will welcome this means to monitor and control the security of their printers and copiers.
