Two new A3 color MFPs from Ricoh

31 January 2014

Already available in Japan, these new A3 multifunctions from Ricoh, the MP C2003 and MP C2503 will soon be available in Europe and in North America.

Running at 20 and 25 ppm respectively at 1200 x 1200 dpi, the MP C2003 and MP C2503 have the following PDLs: PCL5c, PCL6, PDF direct and Media Print as standard with PostScript 3 and PictBridge as options.  As standard they are fitted with 1.5GB RAM but can go up to 2 as an option.  They all have a 250 GB disk.

These MFPs all support USB key and SD card printing and have the ID card copy function.  With the OCR feature installed, they can scan to PDF text.

Ricoh are highlighting the reduced envoronmental impact of these machines - the electrical consumption is very low at 900 W/h per week.  They support user quotas, and have an option for user authentication by means of an integrated card reader.

They can also be fitted with a stapleless stapler, punching together up to five sheets of 80 g/m² paper.

When the MP C2003 and MP C2503 are launched in the US, its likely they will have some additional functions such as Ricoh's ICE (Integrated Cloud Environment) which allows users to scan to web-based services.
