Takeover of the Océ group by Canon quasi-effective !

November 2009 : Japanese manufacturer Canon announce the acquisition of Dutch Océ for spring 2010 and raised a takeover bid up to 730 million euros.

March 2010 : Canon extends its bid until March 19, 2010. Time, according to the company, to collect 100% of
Océ shares.

Both companies said in a joint statement : "With this decision, Canon and Océ have taken an important step in creating a global leader in the copier industry."

With more than 20 000 employees, Océ should retain its identity and its headquarters based in the Netherlands.

Moreover, the business alliance established by Konica-Minolta should be amended but Océ would however retain their OEM distribution rights.
